With over 17 years of experience working within mostly trauma and family and domestic violence focused roles I now provide trauma informed counselling and longer term psychotherapy. I hold the lens of viewing people through the context of a social model of health rather than a medical model. Taking into account all the moving parts of your life, your history of experiences, your beliefs and values, your attachments, your relationships with others yourself and the impacts of trauma inclusive of intergenerational abuse.

I am mindful of ensuring you are resourced enough to explore verbally and or through body focused practices the impacts of your life’s experiences. Providing a non-judgemental space for shame, self blame, self criticism and all of those heavy and often intense emotions to be spoken and or naturally arise and be witnessed and processed often for the first time.

I provide structured guidance drawing from evidence based therapeutic and body work approaches. My practice is registered with the Australian Counselling Association at a level 4.

My practice and personal values encompass intersectionality, diversity and recognise that people come from multi-layered backgrounds including gender, sexual orientations, nationality, ethnicity, spiritual beliefs, relationship status, socioeconomic status, geographical location, health or disability status, and educational experiences.

I deeply respect the wisdom and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders peoples and their ongoing caretaking and connection to the lands, sky lands, waterways and spirituality. I acknowledge the traditional caretakers of the lands on which I work being the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation. I hold gratitude to Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr’s powerful sharing of Dadirri and practices of deep listening and encourage others to explore this ancient powerful wisdom further please look up the miriamrosefoundation.org.au
